Use this form to apply for approval as a certified trader in Northern Ireland
Certified consignees or temporary certified consignees are excise traders that are authorised to import goods into Northern Ireland from an EU member state. Temporary certified consignees must pay the duty due prior to moving goods, certified consignees are authorised to defer payment of duty on excise goods. Certified consignors or temporary certified consignors are excise traders that dispatch goods out of Northern Ireland into an EU member state.
The scheme applies to:
• alcohol and alcoholic drinks
• manufactured tobacco (for example, cigarettes, cigars and smoking tobacco)
• energy products, such as mineral oils
