Use this form to register as a registered consignor
Registered consignors are revenue traders who have been approved and registered to dispatch excise goods within the UK, imported from outside the UK, under excise duty suspension arrangements upon their release to free circulation.
You can only act as a registered consignor and dispatch excise goods in duty suspension if you have the following connection to the goods:
• you are the import agent who makes the import entry declaring the goods to free circulation
• you are the authorised warehousekeeper for the approved tax warehouse where the goods are to be delivered
When to apply for registration
You must submit your application at least 45 days before the date from which you wish to be registered. Do not enter into any arrangements related to this scheme until we have accepted and approved your registration. Please apply for registration at the correct time to avoid us charging you a financial penalty. You have the right to appeal if we impose such a penalty. You must complete the form accurately and include all the information we ask for or we may refuse your application.
What happens next
If we accept your application for registration, we will send you a certificate. Please check it as soon as you get it to make sure that the details on it are correct and that you understand any conditions that we have imposed. Keep it in a safe place and make it available to us for inspection on request. If we do not accept your application, we will tell you.
